A passionate, self-made entrepreneur, Ms. Veronica Nyakianda Gakio exemplifies service excellence, business sustainability, and business collaboration. As the founder, director, and driving force behind Ankole Luxury, she designs and manufactures bespoke, handmade jewelry and accessories using repurposed horn, brass, and stones.

Ankole Luxury’s products bear the mark of dedicated local artisans, many of whom are women. Through this venture, Ms. Gakio mentors nearby women and men with Autism, imparting artisan crafting skills to empower them toward self-reliance. Additionally, she collaborates with a rural community women’s group who specialize in handbag crocheting.

Ms. Gakio’s global business acumen stems from previous leadership roles in Dubai, UAE, and Kenya she’s held. Beyond business, she is a disability advocate, actively supporting programs at Andy Speaks 4SNP and DTSK (Differently Talented Society of Kenya). These organizations provide psychosocial support to parents of children on the autism spectrum, allowing individuals with special needs to reclaim their potential with dignity and unwavering love.

As a community influencer and events coordinator for enableMe—a platform addressing disability concerns—Ms. Gakio continues to make a meaningful impact. Her educational journey includes a diploma in Human Resource Management from Zabeel University in Dubai.
