Saskia Pinas

Born in Suriname, South America, Ms. Saskia Pinas is a dedicated skin healthcare professional who owns three thriving businesses, all centered around meeting the unique needs of people of color. Having relocated to the Netherlands at the tender age of four, she has seamlessly woven her cultural heritage into her entrepreneurial pursuits.

Beyond her astute business acumen, Ms. Pinas harbors a profound aspiration: to ignite inspiration and impart wisdom to the next generation of beauty entrepreneurs. She firmly believes that entrepreneurship transcends ethnicity, serving as a conduit for personal autonomy and the realization of innate talents. Endearingly referred to as ‘Ma Sas’ by her cherished loved ones and loyal clientele, Ms. Pinas perceives business ownership as a potent remedy—a means to mend the historical wounds inflicted upon the black community by slavery, colonialism, and socio-economic disenfranchisement. Moreover, she champions the idea that entrepreneurship fosters self-respect and empowers individuals to shape a future where health, happiness, and safety flourish across generations.

From her earliest years, Ms. Pinas embraced her identity as a proud woman of color with a rich, deeper complexion. The allure of skin bleaching never tempted her, even when faced with dark pigmentation spots from acne, some inflamed by stubborn hair follicles. These skin challenges, while occasionally unsettling, ultimately fortified her resolve. Accepting her natural appearance, imperfections and all, fueled her determination to establish her businesses and guide fellow people of color toward optimal skincare solutions.

Ms. Pinas firmly rejects the notion of altering her skin tone to gain acceptance from others. For her, self-acceptance begins with introspection, not external validation.
